They also say it also might be able to alter someone’s actual present-day reality. And if done correctly, it’s possible to use it to create good fortune for themselves.

Most commonly used law of attraction techniques center on utilizing a person’s thinking actions to create changes in actual anticipated outcomes that we’d like to see. They seem mostly to be logical extensions and improvements of the venerable “think and grow rich” systems that arose back in the 1970s. Additionally, they take traditional “power of positive thinking” philosophies from several decades back and improve on them.

At heart, attraction theory updates both those systems to heart, along with a new understanding of quantum physics, for one thing. This gives law of attraction techniques increased effectiveness in people who are enthusiasts of positive thinking activities. They’re able to channel all of their thinking into processes that seek to move the cosmos towards creating a change in circumstance.

Most attraction techniques involve work in four separate circles. Ultimately, the goal is to teach a person to learn how to determine exactly what it is they really want, called “knowing”  and methods to accomplish realization of their desires.

Attraction theory says it’s necessary to be able to find out what is really desired versus what is wanted in a shallow way. Once done, it’s much easier to engage in positive action to attain a goal.

The next action after knowing is how to correctly ask for something from the universe. The technique mainly involves heightening a person’s ability to focus on the asking, which is the main goal. It might be meditative, or even deeper than that. In most of attraction techniques though, more work is done on the third area. This one actually has three parts to its makeup. They focus mainly on feeling, behaving and knowing that what was asked for is definitely on the way and soon to arrive. More meditative and real-world physical activity (acting as if it’s on the way) is involved.

If used properly, these law of attraction techniques show a bit of promise in helping align a person’s hopes for good fortune with methods for gaining it. They’ll involve thinking about gaining it and then sincerely asking for it. Lastly, they’ll show a person how to behave as if it’s soon to arrive and then accept the outcome which occurs (the fourth circle). These all, New Thought adherent believe, can alter the streams of possibility to a fortuitous outcome.
